Srinagar, May 18 (KNO): Continuing its zero-tolerance drive against the drug menace, J&K Police in Handwara arrests 02 drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
As per the statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in the first operation at Manzgam Crossing Vilgam, a naka was established on the general road where a person moving under suspicious circumstances was intercepted. He has been identified as Altaf Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Samad Mir resident of Matipora Tarathpora.
During personal search, a charas-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
In another operation at Utingroo Qalamabad. a suspect was apprehended during naka checking. He has been identified as Naseer Ahmad Ahanger son of Khazir Mohd Ahanger, resident of Audoora Qalamabad. During search, a Charas like substance was recovered from his possession.
All the accused have been arrested and accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police Stations, and further investigation is underway to unearth the broader network involved.
